Trends vs consolidation on a chart
Market Flow: Trends vs Consolidations
A trend is sustained order flow. In an uptrend, buyers consistently drive price to higher price levels while pullbacks hold above prior lows. In a downtrend, sellers break to deeper lows while bounces stall lower. When highs and lows overlap, price is in a range.
Remember: Always trade with the dominant market flow; fighting the trend lowers your probability.
